Portlaoise
Lions Club will host the “Annual 105I Convention in
2009” in The Heritage Hotel , Portlaoise, Co Laois.
The dates for the convention are the 6th - 8th March, 2009.
The District Convention is one of the most important events
in the Lionistic calendar and we would ask that you encourage
your members to attend the business sessions in order to
gain information on Lionism and what the future holds for
Lions. You are encouraged to submit motions for discussion
and debate at the business sessions. This is the platform
to have your voice heard.
Portlaoise is a
very central Midlands location and easily accessed for members
attending the Convention with our much improved motorways
and rail services. Both the train station and coach services
are only 5 minutes walk from the Heritage Hotel. The convention
venue, the Heritage Hotel, is a four star hotel located
in the centre of Portlaoise with full conference and leisure
facilities and over 100 bedrooms. Two new hotels, The Killeshin
and Maldron hotels, provide additional accommodation and
are located close to the convention centre.
