On Easter Monday our members visited George Percy in Shaen Hospital who celebrated his 100th Birthday! We would like to congratulate George on this momentous occasion.

Our Fashion Show was a fantastic night for all on 11th March. We would like to thanks all of our members who helped make all of the necessary arrangements.

We would also like to thank Shaws who sponsored the event.

Our Christmas projects in 2003 were a great success. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all in our community who donated to our food appeal and to those who bought trees from us.

The proceeds of the Christmas trees sales were in aid of Laois Hospice.

Book Sale - this month we held a very successful book sale in Portlaoise. Thank you to everyone who donated books and to all who purchased books at our sale.

Thank you to the organising committee - David Clegg, Jonathan Shaw, Jerry O'Connell and Marcus Breslin and other Lions members who helped out.

Thank you also to Tommy Keane who kindly allowed us to use his premises.

Soccer Camp - this was successfully held this month. We had 48 participants. More details and photographs can be viewed here.

Presidency of Portlaoise Lions Club is awarded to Jonathan Shaw by last years President Sylvester Murphy.

Commitees were created for all of the forthcoming Portlaoise Lions Club projects.
